Pricing
One published price list. No quotation process, no counting pupils and no sales call before you are allowed to see a number. Prices are for the academic year and exclude VAT. If your school needs a written quotation to raise a purchase order, print this page.

1 What a licence costs
Prices are per academic year and exclude VAT. Every paid licence covers unlimited teachers, unlimited candidates, unlimited papers and unlimited sittings within its scope.

Note
We do not price per pupil. A department entering thirty candidates and one entering three hundred pay the same, because the work of running a mock does not change with the size of the cohort.
2 Included at every tier
None of the following is an upsell. All of it is in the free tier as well as the paid ones.
- Full English and Welsh delivery, with a toggle the candidate controls during the paper. There is no charge for the Welsh language and there never will be.
- All three lockdown levels, including the Safe Exam Browser configuration file and installation as a Chromebook kiosk app.
- Automatic marking of objective questions, and the marking screen for written answers, code and uploaded documents.
- Blind marking, which walks one question down a scattered cohort so the marker cannot see whose work is on screen.
- Grade boundaries you can edit, re-applied across every marked sitting when you move them.
- Per-question facility indices and a marks export.
- Printed booklets in the style of a WJEC paper, one per candidate, with a verifiable page code on every sheet.
3 How buying works
A licence runs for one academic year. We do not sell three year terms, because a multi-year commitment turns a small purchase into an aggregated one that your local authority may then have to look at.
We invoice annually in advance against a school purchase order, and payment is due within 30 days. Full terms are on the terms and conditions page.
A licence does not renew automatically. We write to you before the year ends and you decide.
Trials run for a half term with full access, need no payment details, and do not become a paid subscription unless somebody authorised at the school signs an Order.
Ask for the data protection pack and we will send a completed impact assessment, a data flow diagram and the processor agreement, so your data protection officer has a short job rather than a long one.
4 What you are paying for
You are paying for the software: authoring, on-screen delivery, marking, analytics and printing. You are not paying for past papers.
WJEC and Eduqas publish past papers and mark schemes free of charge, and WJEC offers free on-screen practice on its own platform for the units that are assessed on screen. Those are good things and we tell schools to use them.
What a board gives a department is whole papers. You can sit a past paper, but you cannot take question three from 2019, question seven from 2023 and a question of your own, and hand the class one paper on the topic they are actually weak on. Profion is built the other way round: questions are the unit, and a paper is something you compose from them.
The rest of what Profion adds is everything after the candidate presses submit: marking a whole cohort blind, boundaries that re-grade retrospectively, question level analysis in the terms a department already uses, printed booklets that can be traced back to a pupil, and all of it in Welsh as well as English.
